Our ESC volunteer Aseel in Onești, Romania
My name is Aseel Al-Naimat, a 27-year-old volunteer from Jordan. I recently joined the “Merry Go Bloom” project in the lovely town of Onești, Romania, as part of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program for a 4-months volunteering experience.
From my first days here, I was touched by the warmth and kindness of the local people. Despite the language differences, their friendly gestures, sincere smiles, and eagerness to connect made me feel welcomed and safe. The peaceful rhythm of the town, surrounded by green landscapes, helped me quickly adapt and feel at home.
During my volunteering, I contribute to community development through creative and cultural activities, with a focus on environmental awareness, youth empowerment, and intercultural exchange. Every day brings new learning opportunities, whether through teamwork, workshops, or simply engaging with the people around me.
What makes this journey special is not just the beauty of Romania or the charm of its people, but also the chance to grow, give, and be part of something meaningful. I’m proud to represent Jordan and to be part of a project that values solidarity, learning, and positive impact.
I look forward to the months ahead — filled with stories, friendships, and transformation.
انضممت مؤخرًا إلى مشروع “Merry Go Bloom” في مدينة أونيشت الجميلة برومانيا، ضمن برنامج الفيلق الأوروبي للتضامن (ESC)، لتجربة تطوعية تمتد لأربعة أشهر.
أنا أصيل النعيمات، متطوعة أردنية أبلغ من العمر 27 عامًا. منذ وصولي، لفتني لطف السكان المحليين، حيث قابلوني بابتسامات دافئة ومواقف إنسانية صادقة، رغم اختلاف اللغة. شعرت بأنني جزء من هذا المكان منذ اللحظات الأولى، وساعدني هدوء المدينة وجمال طبيعتها على التكيّف بسرعة والشعور بالسكينة.
أشارك في أنشطة متنوعة تهدف إلى دعم المجتمع المحلي، من خلال ورشات فنية وثقافية تركّز على التوعية البيئية، تمكين الشباب، وتعزيز التبادل الثقافي. كل يوم أتعلم شيئًا جديدًا، سواء من خلال العمل الجماعي، أو اللقاءات، أو حتى التفاعل اليومي مع الناس.
ما يميز هذه التجربة هو أنها تمنحني مساحة للنمو، للعطاء، ولعيش معنى التضامن الحقيقي. أشعر بالفخر لتمثيل الأردن في هذا المشروع، وأتطلع إلى ما تحمله الأيام القادمة من تجارب وصداقات وتحوّلات.
