Our ESC Volunteer Haitham in Baia Mare, Romania

I am Haitham Al-Ajarma, a 26-year-old Jordanian volunteer. I began my journey in Romania under the “Volunteering for Sustainable Communities” project, funded by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC).

The project runs from April 1, 2025, to January 25, 2026, in partnership with my sending organization YNDI (Jordan) and the host organization Greentin Center in Baia Mare.
During this 30-days experience, I support rural communities in Maramureș, Satu Mare, and Sălaj through:
• Non-formal educational activities for children and youth.
• Organizing cultural and language workshops.
• Writing content to promote volunteering.
• Representing Greentin in the local community.

I also participate in training sessions and language courses, receiving personal and professional support that helps me grow in teamwork and intercultural communication.
What makes this journey special is the shared purpose I have with fellow volunteers from different countries — building true human solidarity.

I’m proud to represent Jordan and aim to make a positive impact. I believe I’ll return home not just with new skills, but with a new country in my heart.

أنا هيثم العجارمة، شاب أردني أبلغ من العمر 26 عامًا. بدأت رحلتي التطوعية في رومانيا ضمن مشروع “Volunteering for Sustainable Communities”، بتمويل من الاتحاد الأوروبي عبر برنامج الفيلق الأوروبي للتضامن ESC.

يمتد المشروع من 1 أبريل 2025 حتى 25 يناير 2026، بالشراكة بين المنظمة المرسلة YNDI في الأردن، والمنظمة المستضيفة Greentin Center في مدينة بايا ماري.

خلال 300 يوم من العمل، أشارك في أنشطة ميدانية تخدم المجتمعات الريفية في ماراموريش، ساتو ماري، وسالاج، تشمل:
• تنفيذ أنشطة تعليمية غير رسمية للأطفال والشباب.
• تنظيم ورشات ثقافية ولغوية.
• كتابة محتوى توعوي ونشره عبر المنصات الرقمية.
• تمثيل منظمة Greentin في المجتمع المحلي.
كما أشارك في تدريبات ودورات لغوية، وأتلقى دعمًا مهنيًا وشخصيًا يساهم في تطوير مهاراتي في العمل الجماعي والتواصل بين الثقافات.

ما يميز هذه التجربة هو روح التعاون التي تجمعني بزملاء متطوعين من دول مختلفة، وهدفنا المشترك: تعزيز التضامن الإنساني.
أنا فخور بتمثيل الأردن، وأسعى لترك أثر إيجابي في حياة من أعمل معهم، وأؤمن أنني سأعود من هذه التجربة بحياة أغنى وقلب يسكنه وطنان.
